The Bank of England has signalled fresh hope for the UK economy, as it forecast that inflation could be down to 2% within months.
The governor, Andrew Bailey, said things were moving in the right direction as interest rates were held at 5.25%, leading to speculation that they may be cut sooner than was first expected.
