Dodging and Burning is a technique where you lighten and darken parts of the image in editing. Dodging is the process of lightning and Burning is the process of darkening.

Dodging and Burning is one of the best ways to create more dynamic and interesting images. By enhancing the lights and darks in an image and getting them balanced properly, it creates depth in your image and makes your 2D image draw the viewer in and create a 3D image.

Mastering this technique takes a little time but with practice you can make your images more dynamic and take your photos to the next level!

One way to really make your photos stand out is by using the natural light in the image and enhancing it, whether by darkening or lightning. Spending a little extra time taking a photo and making sure your lighting is good can make the edit much better. By dodging and burning the natural highlights and darks you can really make your image pop!
