All aboard! Let's take a look at Amtrak trains along the Hudson River! Travel to the state of New York as we see the many trains that are part of Amtrak's Empire Service. Amtrak owns a fleet of 18 P32ACDM locomotives used specifically on this corridor. The P32s are able to run off the on board diesel motor or pick electricity up from third rails, a requirement for running in and out of Penn Station in New York City. On most trains continuing past Albany, locomotives are switched out for a standard diesel-electric locomotive. Let's explore the scenic sights of Amtrak in the Hudson River Valley!
