Got a chance to try out an Atoto P8. It doesn't run Android, so I expected it to be like the Linux-based F7. It's not. The physical design and features are great, but the UI for the F7 is much better. But surprisingly, IT HAS THE SAME BLUETOOTH DEVICE CONNECTION RESTRICTION that Atoto's Android units have. Specifically, you can only connect to the last device used upon boot up without digging into menus to select a different phone.
If you're the only driver of a car, this isn't a problem. Share the car with a family member? Problem. Even if you've previously paired your phone with the unit and the other driver's phone isn't present, you have to manually go into settings and select your device from the list to connect to. That's silly and unnecessary. It should work like the F7, or like Wifi: Have a list of previous connections that are valid, and move one-by-one down the list until one connects. Making the user do this manually is silly and confusing, especially if you share the car with a less tech savvy driver. Please fix this Atoto!
