Social curiosity is talking, listening and watching others to learn what they are thinking and doing. “Human beings are inherently social animals, and the most effective and efficient way to determine whether someone is friend or foe is to obtain information.”
FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FLUSH WITH THE LID OPEN
Hello, welcome, subscribe and leave a like. Unlike our ancestors, who centuries ago did not have basic sanitation, today we have all the comfort of doing our needs in the bathroom and getting rid of them with the simple press of a button. The problem is that this alone is not enough to keep us safe from microorganisms harmful to health: in addition to flushing the toilet, it is essential to lower the toilet lid — and we will show you why. Researchers at the University of Colorado, in the United States, came up with an interesting and practical idea to show what happens when someone presses the flush button without lowering the lid of the toilet. By aiming a green laser at the toilet in total darkness, they were able to more accurately visualize the result of a careless flush. The result of the research was published in the journal Scientific Reports in a text entitled "Commercial toilets emit strong aerosol jets that spread quickly" — more than enough to imagine what was discovered throughout the study. a lot of particles simply shoot out to about 1.5 m high when the discharge is pressed, and can hover freely in the air for almost a minute. According to the study, when we flush the toilet and forget to put the lid down, we are putting our health, that of our family and even our pets at risk. This happens because the particles that come out of these jets can be contaminated with germs and bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, which can be inhaled or land on surrounding surfaces, potentially contaminating those who touch them. In the environment prepared for the study, there was no danger of contamination because the flushing water and the toilet were always clean, but the same does not occur in our homes, where the bathroom is frequently used.
A point stressed by the scientists is that clean water may have influenced the result of the jets, since the presence of fecal matter and toilet paper can alter the force with which the particles flow at the time of flushing. Even so, as a matter of hygiene and precaution, it is important to remember to lower the toilet lid before flushing.
