Right now, tech bros are claiming that AI programs like ChatGPT can replace artists. But, of course, artists can only be replaced if the technology is everything tech bros make it out to be. It doesn't matter if ChatGPT can write a script, if the script is so bad any movie made with it would be unwatchable. I take a deep dive into the topic of AI Art, seeing if it can write as good as me, detailing those hurt by these programs, interviewing those who like AI Art, digging through the tangled legal grey area that is copyright, and ultimately attempt to answer the most important question: is it art?
