What Would An Expanded BRICS Mean?
There’s a new threat to Western economic powers and it comes in the form of BRICS. This group of countries is rapidly expanding and its new members offer massive financial clout when it comes to global influence. The G7 is understandably weary of this ever-growing group and they have every right to be. For years now the potential has been there with these alternative nations but now it's starting to be realised.
Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa were thought to be nations full of potential but there were always question marks over whether they were capable of achieving it.
Since its expansion in 2024 from five to ten members, BRICS has captured global attention. This bloc, now known as BRICS+, encompasses half of the world's population and boasts the largest cumulative GDP (PPP) globally. Previously, the G7—comprising Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States—was considered the most influential political and economic group on the world stage. However, tensions between these two groups have been rising, manifesting not on actual battlefields but through indirect confrontations in various situations. In this video, we aim to thoroughly analyze the influence and position of each group. While we strive for neutral analysis and accuracy in our figures and data, there may be some errors. Please feel free to point out any mistakes in the comments to help us improve our future videos. Without further ado, let’s dive into the analysis of BRICS+ and G7 as of June 2024.
