With springtime, comes our feast of Pesach --
or Passover - the Festival of Freedom - Freedom from bondage.
On this night, the entire family gathers around the table focusing on the Seder and the Matzo bread. This same Matzo bread symbolic also to believers of the Lord's supper bread.
Here, we retell the story of how God sent Moses to free us from slavery
in Egypt and lead us on our Exodus to the Promised Land
the Land Promised to our Patriarch Abraham for all generations.
Blessed are you, Lord, our God, sovereign of the universe,
Who creates the fruit of the vine
But Pharaoh refused the command to 'Let My People Go',
and so God sent 10 plagues down upon the Egyptians.
Before the 10th plague, Moses told us to smear lamb's blood
around our door frames, which we did.
And so the Almighty passed safely over our houses --
while smiting dead, the first-born in every Egyptian household.
After this Pharaoh's will finally crumbled, and Moses led us on the Exodus
out of the land of Egypt -- out of the House of Bondage --
into the desert of Sinai.
