Authorities in the Kyegegwa district have called for more efforts to deal with the increasing rate of school dropouts in the district. This follows reports indicating that limited resources, especially in the Kyaka II refugee settlement, are behind a dramatic rise in the high number of refugee learners with poor learning outcomes. According to the District Education Officer, Hussain Mwesigye, the district is grappling with a rise in the number of learners who fail to complete the education cycle due to limited infrastructure and a shortage of teachers.
