A candlelight vigil is being held to honor the victims of the mass shooting in Chesapeake. The Hampton Roads community is coming together to remember Tyneka Johnson, Brian Pendleton, Randy Blevins, Kellie Pyle, Lorenzo Gamble, and Fernando Chavez-Barron.
They lost their lives Tuesday night when a Walmart team leader opened fire inside his own store. Now nearly a week later, city leaders are searching for ways to help Chesapeake heal and recover.
Flowers and chairs are set up at the Chesapeake’s City Park just off Greenbrier Parkway. This is the first time city leaders are holding a vigil to honor the victims and their families.
