How To stretch tight Hamstrings and Calf Muscles through Pilates Treatment Approach? In this video, I demonstrated 10 stretches you can do at least 15 minutes a day to combat tightness after prolonged sitting posture, standing and walking that causes tightness, leg muscles fatigue and poor endurance of the postural muscles due to tightness and cramps. The 10 stretches will help lengthen and strengthen your hamstrings and calf muscles in eccentric control. Engage The 5 Core Muscles and Proper Breath Work Techniques , In this video I will be discussing the core muscles engagement as well, the importance of breathwork, what is breath work, abdominal bracing, vacuuming and 5 group of muscles? I will also discuss the importance of these deep core muscles. These stretches will help low back pain stiffness, achiness on your legs and help your standing and sitting posture to lengthen your muscles, trunk and hips areas. These exercises are great cool down as well after a HIIT, workout, lifting weights, running or any high impact activities to release all the tension , aches and pain.
Annie uses her experience as a physical therapist and Pilates instructor to guide a Pilates specific routine with a program to target difficult to treat diagnosis such as low back pain with nerve involvement, neck pain, posture series, abdominal hernia, pelvic floor pain and weakness, upper and lower extremities weakness and pain and overall health and wellness to be strong, fit and quality of life.
These are the 10 stretches
1. supine ankle pumps
2. supine single leg circles (small)
3. supine single leg circles (big)
4. supine hamstring stretches, small range
5. double leg circles
6. v stretch
7. downward dog
8. forward fold
9 sitting single forward fold
10. straddle stretch
These exercises could be done 5 to 10 reps up to 5 to 10 seconds hold depending on your flexibility and tolerance. The straddle stretch could be hold up to 2 minutes hold for advance level.
