If you join cruise ship and it is your first contract then you will look forward for promotion. But ifit is your first contract then it is very hard to get promoted for next level. My suggedtion is if you join cruise ship then don't think for promotion in your first contract just keep doing your work dedicatly. But i believe in 2nd contract you have 90% chance for promotion.
