Nicole MartinRogers (White Earth Ojibwe, descendant), Senior Research Manager, Wilder Research, discusses why and what it means to disaggregate data. How we disaggregate data depends on the question or problem. She says we want to do that very carefully and do it in ways that apply to that particular issue or problem.
She also says that an important step when we disaggregate data is participatory analysis, walking people through how to use that data. Nicole shares how Wilder Research partnered with St. Paul and Minnesota Foundations to host data parties for local government officials and nonprofit leaders to show how they might use the data to advocate for change in their communities.
