I don't usually launch into lengthy speeches at the start of a recording session, but this particular morning I had a lot to say. It was the final day of recording 'To Shiver the Sky' with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the night before I had gone to see them perform Walton's 'Portsmouth Point Overture' and Holst's 'The Planets' at the Royal Festival Hall. It got me thinking about how long I've been working with the orchestra, and how they've shaped me as a composer over the years.

So here's that raw, unedited moment; captured by my right hand man Gabriel Majou. It's a candid look at one of my most fruitful collaborations with one of the finest orchestras in the world.
