I change gearing on my XSR 900 to better suit my riding style and to resolve a couple of issues at my local track Jennings GP. I discuss my reasoning and show a quick installation video showing the removal of the OEM sprockets and chain. I installed a 15T Driven 520 front sprocket, a 46T TST Industries WORX aluminum rear sprocket, and a D.I.D VX3 X-Ring 520 chain. I use the Alpha Moto chain tool to break the stock chain and press/flare the new master link. I also weigh each component for those who are curious about saving weight.
Between the sprockets and 520 chain conversion you're looking at about 1.6 to 1.7lbs of mostly unsprung weight and rotating mass lossed depending on how many chain links you keep. This setup is mainly for those racing/tracking their bike or looking for more performance. I will report back as to how much use I can get out of the chain & sprockets.
