While Blake Shelton and Shakira have two very distinct sounds, the stars happen to make an excellent combo vocally. In a 2014 performance on The Voice, Shelton and the "Hips Don't Lie" singer (who was a Coach on the series for Seasons 4 and 6) joined forces for a cover of "Need You Now" by Lady A, and their contrasting voices suited the song perfectly. the performance started out with Shelton strumming his guitar and Shakira gripping the microphone stand while they both stood in front of a fireplace on stage. "Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor, reaching for the phone cause I can't fight it anymore," Shakira started the song.
