The new Surface Type cover 2 keyboard is much better than the previous version. It is much more sturdier, typing is much better. The key travel seems to be better, which gives you a better typing experience. The back lighted keyboard is welcome, makes typing in those low lit places a breeze. Since the type cover 2 keyboard seems to be more sturdier, typing with it on your lap is a bit better as well. It still won't be like a full laptop on your lap, but you can comfortably type out reports, emails, etc...
