The term "Miracle Strip" was coined in the early 60s. It included all of the white sandy beaches along the northern gulf coast of Florida. From Panama City Beach in Bay County to Pensacola Beach in Escambia County—all were promoted with the phrase, Miracle Strip. This video, commissioned by the Fort Walton Chamber of Commerce, points out that indigenous people enjoyed the white sandy beaches too.
