This course discusses ways that family members can support their loved one with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Referred to as an invisible wound, your Veteran family member may be suffering, but might be hesitant to talk about the issue. Although living with the symptoms of PTSD is different for every person, this video shows steps you can take to help alleviate that suffering. Narrator Dr. Ted Bonar advises family members to be patient, to listen and not judge, and not force a conversation. Giving that support with patience, persistence, great love, and care is important.
