Hi! My name is Shannon and I own a little business called Black Sheep House where I refinish furniture. This business provides our family with extra income and is a major creative outlet for me! I started this channel to help others to make their homes more beautiful and to help other furniture painters learn tips to increase their skills. I'm glad you're here!
***Correction on my comments about Behr premium plus ultra semi gloss enamel, it is an acrylic based paint, not latex... BUT I DO use latex paint with great success as long as I sand and prime and clear coat It 🥳 BUT If you want to alil those steps you should go airb a chalk based paint or gebeeal finishes milk paint Is great
PRODUCTS USED:
Primer - Zinnser 123
Base Coat Paint - Behr Rugged Tan - Premium Plus Interior Semi Gloss Enamel
***Update to the process (I’ve found that adding a bit of clear coat to the Behr paint helps it hold up better to the broom brushing across it)
Glase - Rustoleum Decorative Glaze - Brown
Dry Brush Paint - Sample of Behr paint - Color: Natural Twine (samples usually only come in flat sheen)
Deck staining brush
Chip brush (one small, one larger)
Zibra 2.5 inch angled brush is my fav but any brush
Small size Broom / Wisk
If you prefer Lowe’s for paint the base color you need is Baltic Birch and I’m sure they have a brown decorative glaze of some sort and then a light gold color for dry brushing
