Dal pakwan recipe is one of the most famous Sindhi breakfast recipe. It is basically chana dal served with pakwan (crisp fried Indian bread).
Lets see how to make dal pakwan. The dal here is a simple preparation of chana dal perked up with green chillies, cumin seeds and spice powders, while the pakwan is a deep fried puri like snack made with a flour dough.

I would like to suggest some tips to make perfect dal pakwan recipe.
1) The chana dal should be cooked proprerly but should not be mushy. The grains of the dal should hold their shape but should still be soft.
This is very important to get thecorrect texture for dal pakwan.
2) Add turmeric powder while boiling to give a lovely yellow colour to the dal.

For dal:
chana dal:3 cups(soaked for 1 hour and drained)
haldi: 1/4 tsp
salt: to taste
cumin seeds: 1 tb spn
green chillies: 2
curry leaves: 10
hing( asafoetida): 1/4 tsp
amchur( dried mango powder): 1tbspn
chilli powder: 1/2 tb spn
garam masala: 1/2 tb spn
For Pakwan:
plain flour(maida): 1/2 cup
wheat flour: 1 cup
semolina(sooji): 1/4 cup
ghee: 2 tb spoon (hot)
salt: to taste
cumin seeds: 1tb spoon
carrom seeds: 1/2 tb spn
black pepper: 1/4 tb spn
oil: for deep frying
To Garnish dal pakwan:
green chutney
sweet chutney
chopped spring onions
chopped tomatoes
choopedd coriander
pomegranate
