Comparing the most inexpensive techniques to scan negatives with border to get the sharpest result on flatbed scanners. I am using Vuescan 9.7.05 and Epson V850 to scan the negatives and the Negative Lab Pro plugin in Lightroom to convert the images into positive.
1. scan directly on the glass
2. scan with the LOMO Digitaliza 120 film holder raised 3-4mm
3. negative taped on a non-reflective glass which is raised by 3-4mm
