India has decided to ramp up the number of COVID-19 tests by allowing rapid blood-based antibody tests. In an advisory note to the health ministry, ICMR says, "We are expecting delivery of Rapid Test kits for use in response to COVID-19 situation". Here we talk to Dr Shahid Jameel about what these tests are and how they are different from the currently used PCR tests.
