I have been trying to quit nicotine, specifically vaping, now for almost 8 months on and off. Despite genuine attempts to quit I have failed miserably. But one of the reasons I am so frustrated by this experience is I've struggled with substance abuse before in my life. So, I have a long history of overcoming addictions to far more addictive and serious drugs than nicotine, but out of all the drugs I've been some level of addicted to and then tried to quit... Nicotine has been the only one that I have so consistently failed at. Why is that? What is it about Nicotine that makes it so damn hard to walk away from? What is it about nicotine that makes it harder, at least for me, to quit than opioids, cocaine, and molly? That is exactly what I want to explore in today's video. I going to make the argument that the reason Nicotine is harder to quit is because it lacks any powerful and built in reasons that help motivate you to quit during withdrawal that are found in far more serious and addictive drugs.
