The Critical Path Method (CPM), or Critical Path Analysis (CPA) is an effective tool for scheduling a number of project activities. It is an essential technique in project management that is used to determine the longest path and project duration. If there is a delay on the critical path, the whole project will be delayed. Here we demonstrate how to draw a network diagram, perform forward pass and backward pass calculations, calculate floats and determine the project duration on a small example.
