AFTER SPENDING TWO YEARS IN AN ITALIAN PRISON--AMERICAN AMANDA KNOX MAY SOON LEARN HER FATE.
ON FRIDAY PROSECUTORS BEGAN CLOSING ARGUMENTS IN THE EXCHANGE STUDENT'S MURDER TRIAL. SHE AND HER --THEN BOYFRIEND-- ARE ACCUSED OF KILLING HER BRITISH ROOMMATE IN NOVEMBER 2007. A THIRD SUSPECT HAS ALREADY BEEN TRIED AND CONVICTED IN THE CASE.
THE CRIME SUPPOSEDLY BEGAN AS A SEX GAME --THAT EVENTUALLY ENDED WITH THE SEXUAL ASSAULT AND MURDER OF 21-YEAR-OLD MEREDITH KERCHER. PROSECUTORS SAY KNOX AND RAFELLE SOLLECITO (RAH-FY-EHL'-AY SOH-LEH'-CHEE-TOH) STAGED A BURGLARY AT THE MURDER SCENE TO COVER-UP THE CRIME.
THEY BOTH DENY WRONGDOING AND NOW FACE LIFE IN PRISON IF CONVICTED.
PROSECUTORS ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE THEIR SENTENCING REQUESTS ON SATURDAY, WHILE A VERDICT IS EXPECTED IN EARLY DECEMBER.
