There is a place in Estonia which attracts tourists. It is called the “Saatsi Boot” , part of the Pechora region. Here you can enter and leave the territory of Russia without a visa and passport. The length of this road is 1 kilometre, it can be crossed by vehicle only (including bicycle).
The border point was installed in 1945 and till now is considered as a temporary border crossing point. Both countries have agreed, that direct road between Värska and Saatse may be used for border crossing by local residents of Estonia.
