The Popocatépetl Volcano, located in the central Mexican states of Puebla and Morelos, erupted Tuesday night, unleashing ash and fragments two miles out from its crater. The Popocatépetl Volcano, which at 17,801 feet is the second-highest peak in Mexico, exploded Tuesday night at 7.23pm local time. Residents in nearby towns along the states of Puebla and Morelos, where the volcano is located, reported minor earthquakes.The Popocatépetl Volcano is located on the eastern-half of the Trans-Mexican volcanic belt, covering the central-southern part of the country.
