Our SS19 Trend recap was filmed at the Ritz Paris.
There is not a fashion week that isn't worth attending, but you are in a different mindset during each one. New York is fashion shows, market appointments, presentations and after parties.London Fashion Week is shows and presentations. Milan Fashion Week is runway shows and presentations.Paris Fashion Week is the ultimate finale featuring all different scenarios.You'll be seeing people who showed at NYFW, LFW & MFW in Paris since everyone goes there for market.
Spring Summer 2019 Trends:
Western Boot in all different colors. Booties, tall boots, pairing them with dresses
We saw sheer both in street style & on the runway.This can be worn oversized over a silk slip
There was LOTS of color present: yellow, orange, marigold
Power suit
Matching-wearing a print on your clothes, shoes and bag that is all the same
Fairytale dressing
Fringe
Slits
Crochet
Are the clothes in fashion shows and presentations different than what is sold in stores? What is in the runway show may not go into production, it may just be the runway piece.
How important is it that brands partake in fashion month? Extremely important! It is when all the buyers, stores, editors, influencers, etc are all in one place and their attention is on the show. If a fashion show is too expensive, have an event at least.
How did we pack for fashion month?This was a challenge because you are supposed to be dressed stylishly every single day.We started with the basics.We used accessories to change it up: scarves, sunglasses, shoes, handbags and jewelry.Put your shoes in individual shoe bags.For your clothes, try to pack them on the hanger and drape them in the suitcase, so you can take them out and they won't be as wrinkled.Make sure to pack a travel steamer.

We had a market appointment with Sonia Rykiel. The brand was founded in 1968 and she is known as the Queen of Knits.It is a very French brand. She did the "poor boy" striped sweater.In 2014, Julie de Libran became the Artistic Director. She has brought the brand back to the forefront of Parisian chic. This collection celebrated the 50th anniversary of the house.Sonia Rykiel recently had an allée in Paris named after her.The collection was inspired by the bio (organic) market Julie shops at each week.It was a colorful collection with crochet.They have a cafe inside with coffee and juice, etc.There were fresh flowers and produce everywhere.
We had a working lunch at Les Deux Magots.
Next, was a market appointment with the Paris-based brand that was founded by two Turkish sisters called, Dice Kayek.They are inspired by architecture, which you can see with the pieces. The collection is feminine and really colorful.The pieces make a statement and the fabrics are super luxe.We had a market appointment with Edeline Lee.Her fabrics are really neat and they pack well.
