In this video we discuss how the finish on your guitar affects how it sounds. I think most of us can agree that the finish on your acoustic guitar will change how it sounds. Whether it's painted, oiled, etc. can have an important effect on the way that it vibrates and thus, how it sounds. Where this topic gets contentious is when we talk about solid body electric guitars. Arguably, the difference that you finish makes to the sound of your electric guitar is so minute it can't even be measured. That being said, theoretically it should make some ridiculously small difference, and in the video I explain how and why.
