As climate change alters habitats on Earth, some species are shifting their ranges. Protecting sensitive species means planning for their future movements. This webinar was conducted on September, September 25 from 3--4 PM EST, hosted by the American Museum of Natural History's Science Bulletins program and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The webinar launched a data visualization about protecting wildlife in a warming world, designed for informal education at museums and science centers.
The webinar featured the visualization's scientific advisors:
• Dr. Ned Gardiner, data visualization specialist with the NOAA Climate Program Office
• Dr. Healy Hamilton, biodiversity scientist with the Worldviews Network
Drs. Gardiner and Hamilton briefed participants and answered questions about the connections between climate and wildlife, how computer modeling is enabling scientists to anticipate habitat changes, and conservation strategies that could help species adapt in a warming world.
