The weather is starting to warm up in Colorado which means one thing for us here at Built2Wander – it’s time to hit the trails! After finishing our 3rd Gen Raptor build for the 2022 SEMA Show, we spent the winter months making some tweaks and fine-tuning the build. We finally got a chance to get off-road and put our Raptor build through its paces at high-speeds through whoops and other sections of uneven terrain.
In this episode, we revisit the Evil Manufacturing long travel suspension system on our 3rd Gen Ford Raptor. We start by discussing what suspension travel is, and why it matters. From there we highlight some key differences between a mid-travel suspension system and a long-travel suspension system, identifying components that make our suspension system unique such as Bilstein Shock Absorbers and upper J-Arms from Evil MFG. Finally, we put our truck to the test by hitting large whoops and uneven terrain at speeds of 20 MPH, 40 MPH, and 70 MPH. We show first-hand how our Raptor handles demanding terrain at different speeds and find out just how capable this truck really is!
