Spectacles can boost productivity and increase earning potential. Only if you can see well, can you work well. However, one out of three people can't reach their full potential because they can't see clearly and don't have the vision correction they need. $272 billion is the cost to the global economy of lost productivity every year because adults with uncorrected poor vision struggle with work.
Essilor's 2.5 New Vision Generation (2.5 NVG) developed an inclusive business model to reach workers in developing countries - which are home to 90% of the 2.5 billion people globally who don't have access to vision correction today. 2.5 NVG partners with factories, who agree to host vision screenings for their employees in their premises and to acquire affordable quality glasses for them if needed. We visited one of these events in a shoe factory in Cambodia where workers not only got their eyes tested but also learned how to take care of their sight.
