Cities are cut off from the world! Historic floods hit Switzerland and Italy. Natural disaster 30 June 2024
Storms in Switzerland and northern Italy have caused severe flooding and landslides, with at least four people reported missing.
Camping sites along the Maggia River were evacuated, and part of the small Visletto road bridge collapsed.
Further north, the Rhône River overflowed in several areas of the canton of Valais, flooding highways and railway lines.
Floods, thunderstorms, and landslides also struck various regions of northern Italy.
Firefighters reported conducting around 80 rescue operations, evacuating dozens of people in the northern Piedmont region.
