This was recorded at Ripon Cathedral two years ago at the second service I’d ever played for. I thought this was a very fitting piece for this time as it’s so joyful and lively which is the perfect way to welcome the new year in! The thrilling Orchestral Trumpet is of course used, which blends beautifully with the rest of the Lewis/Harrison and Harrison organ. It may be small by Cathedral organ standards, but it really sings in the building and is one of the best organs I’ve ever played (definitely not bias)!
I would also like to thank everyone who has subscribed, liked and commented - I was not expecting anywhere this many of people to be watching me, especially after only 4 videos of my questionable playing!!! I hope you enjoy the future content on this channel which will hopefully include some large organs in 2024 😉…
