Adho Mukha Svanasana Pronounced - AH-doh MOO-kah shvah-NAHS-anna and translates from sanskrit to english as follows: Adho = downward, Mukha = face, Svana = dog and Asana - pose or seat.
Adho Mukha Svanasana stretches your feet, calves, hamstrings, spine, shoulders and hands and strengthens your arms and legs. It is considered a resting pose, a pose unto itself or a pose between poses to return to anatomical neutral.
Downward Facing Dog - Adho Mukha Svanasana, lengthens and strengthens the spine, tones your waist and abdomen, brings fresh oxygen to the brain and causes alertness.
