With care and support, children and young people can grow to become their strongest selves. We nurture growth, allow children’s and young people's personality to unfold, see their strength and empower children as they step into the world.

Haneen is an outspoken advocate for children’s rights who one day hopes to be a child rights defender. Haneen, who grew up with her twin sister at the SOS Children’s Village in Bethlehem, speaks out on youth issues as a member of the Palestinian Children’s Council, and she also spoke on a panel hosted by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child held in September 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland.
István, Hungary:
István’s goal is to strengthen the network of care leavers in his native Hungary and across Europe. He has taken part in leaving care advocacy and training activities, and hopes to do more. In 2018, he even led a session at the ‘Be the change!’ conference in Bucharest, Romania, pushing to improve the transition of young people from alternative care to independent living.
Han, Vietnam:
Han helps her mother most mornings to open up her stall selling sticky rice. Han, whose family received support from SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam over the years, is now in her last year of university and hopes to embark on a career in environmental protection.
Beatrice, Colombia:
