An outstanding live performance by Marcus Miller Project.
The song "Run For Cover" was performed and recorded live at the legendary jazz festival "Live Under The Sky" in year 1991, and can now be heard on the compilation album "Everybody is a star - Live in Tokyo".
This was the first major appearance of Marcus Miller to perform live with his own band as the Marcus Miller Project in Japan, and it featured not only his groundbreaking bass solo, but also great performances by new musicians like Everette Harp, Michael "Patches" Stewart, Dean Brown, and Poogie Bell.
The album "Everybody is a star - Live in Tokyo" also contains amazing live recordings of artists such as Al Jarreau "Spain", David Sanborn Group "Chicago Song", and Marcus Miller Project featuring Joe Sample "Bones Jive".
Run For Cover, written by Marcus Miller, is originally recorded on David Sanborn's album Voyeur (1981), and it's also recorded on Sanborn's live album Straight To The Heart (1984).
The Band: Marcus Miller (Bass), Philippe Saisse (Keyboards), Dean Brown (Guitar), Everette Harp (Alto Saxophone), Michael "Patches" Stewart (Trumpet), Steve Thornton (Percussion), and Poogie Bell (Drums).
