(8 Oct 2014) Minor clashes between Kurdish protesters and riot police continued on Wednesday in Diyarbakir in the east of Turkey despite the curfew after clashes overnight.
The protesters had been demonstrating against the Islamic State group's advance on Kobani, a Syrian town close to the Turkish border.
Military tanks and soldiers were also present.
Protestors hurled rocks at the police, who police responded with tear gas and water cannon.
Local news agencies reported 14 deaths in total in clashes across the country.
