A special taskforce tranquillized the rogue wild tusker Arikomban on Saturday. Once the elephant is unconscious, it will be captured and taken to the Periyar Tiger Reserve. For the operation, a taskforce of 150 people was stationed in the Idukki district's Chinnakanal region. The elephant was sedated by the taskforce under Dr. Arun Zachariah's direction.
