Safety first!
Make sure coffee is cool to the touch before staining paper.
Monitor paper closely the entire time it's in the oven and follow usual oven safety.
Iron in a well ventilated space (you may want to also wear a mask like I did) because of the strong burning coffee smell.

Baking dish
Coffee & brewed coffee grounds
Uncoated paper
Spoon
Old towel
Old cloth
Baking tray
Oven
Oven mitt

Please note this is an unpredictable process and your paper will not look exactly like mine, instead it will be beautifully unique to you! This is especially true when experimenting with different paper types and following my tips for different textures. Have fun!
Dyeing paper with coffee or tea makes it acidic, meaning it is not archival quality. These pages may deteriorate faster than others and could even cause harm to photos or documents you use with them. Coffee stained paper is great for fun projects, but not ideal for keepsakes you want to last decades or generations.
