I wanted a portable workbench I could bring camping to try carving. I found a lot of nice options online but they were all $200-300 so I decided to make one with scrap 2x4s and furring strips. The bulk of the bench is super easy to make but the vise was challenging. This is the first vise I made so I have room for improvement but overall this was a really fun build.
