It's also a component in our everyday diet that the supplement industry likes to capitalize on by marketing it as a lot more expensive than it should be to get "quality" protein.
NEWS FLASH: The protein we consume from every day foods IS quality protein.
But they wouldn't be able to get away with charging a premium for it if we knew that.
I'm not bashing the use of protein powder either. It's just become so prevalent across widespread media that it's often (erroneously) assumed that we need it for training, when that couldn't be further from the truth.
