Just about every 5 years, Volkswagen releases a new Anniversary model of the Golf GTI to celebrate the model's birthday, and in 2021, 45 years after the introduction of the very first Golf GTI, this kite will continue to fly. The technical basis comes from the Golf 8 GTI Clubsport, with a 300 hp 2.0 TSI under the hood, which is always linked to a DSG gearbox and sprints to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The top speed of the regular model is limited to 250 km/h, but this 45 may continue uninhibited until... well, Volkswagen does not say that, but it will not go much faster than 260 km/h.
