NOLA natives Eyehategod were right at home in the muggy heat of the Paradise Pool Stage at Psycho Las Vegas 2018.
Since I started filming for a hobby four years ago, I've had designed on capturing the legendary godfathers of southern sludge.
The closest I'd come to it was during their tour with Randy Blythe, while Mike IX was recouping from serious health issues and a subsequent surgery. One of the songs from that performance, "New Orleans Is The New Vietnam" (which you can view elsewhere on this very channel), went viral and was featured on Blabbermouth).
Seemed like I'd always miss the band when they'd come my way due to one reason or another. It almost didn't happen this time, either...
The day they performed, I'd gone out earlier and underestimated the Vegas heat, leading to some pretty serious heat exhaustion that had me taking it easy in my hotel room for most of the afternoon. Thankfully, I felt just perky enough to get my ass down there and see the set.
Of course, by that time, any advantageous filming location had been taken, so I ended up getting as close to the stage and doing some pretty ridiculous things physically to get the shots I did.
By the end of the set, my hand was completely numb and it took me half an hour to wake it up again. Here are a few of the songs I captured!
