Casa de Fritos opened in Disneyland in August of 1955, but back then it was over near where the Stage Door Cafe is today. It moved to the now Rancho del Zocalo location in 1957 due to its popularity.

Doritos were first put on the menu at Disneyland as a substitute option for the typical bag of Fritos that came with every meal… without telling the Fritos company. When they found out, they made a deal with Alex Foods (who supplied their non-Fritos food items for the restaurant) and did a test market in SoCal. They sold out faster than Alex Foods could produce them, so Frito Lay took over production at its Tulsa, OK plant and distributed them nationwide. They were first just tortilla chips, then they added taco-flavored chips in 1967 before finally creating the nacho cheese version we know and love in 1972 🌮
