This gem was one I was one of the most amazing gems I ever got to hold in my own hands. When I first saw it I actually swore. It comes from a mining field that is. no longer a mining field called Tintenbar in NSW
It's one of the only volcanic opal deposits in Australia and is usually unstable opal but this piece has been stable for 40 years.
