Alrighty, Sooooo....
This groove is something I have been working on for awhile and I was kinda procrastinating filming it because its pretty hard!!! I did my best with it and as of today I still can't fully play the hi-hat up to tempo.
I think this lesson gives you a good understanding of the underlying theme and principles behind the groove and also a breakdown plus transcriptions of the intro groove.
There are a bunch of different versions of this tune and I referring to the live in Tokyo version from back in 2003. The intro of the song always stood out to me as incredibly fast, funky and syncopated.
