Amid the NCP crisis in Maharashtra, both the factions--Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar--held key meetings with party leaders in a show of strength. Addressing his party workers, Ajit Pawar took a swipe at his 83-year-old uncle Sharad Pawar and said that it was time for him to retire. Meanwhile, at the NCP meeting at YB Chavan Centre in Mumbai, Sharad Pawar stressed that the party name and symbol was not going anywhere. At least 31 MLAs from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) were present at the key meeting called by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and 13 arrived at party chief Sharad Pawar's meeting venue as both factions laid claim to the majority of its 53 MLAs. In a petition filed before the Election Commission on July 5, the Ajit Pawar-led faction claimed that a resolution was passed at a national executive meeting on June 30, that replaced Sharad Pawar as NCP president and elected Ajit Pawar to the top post. However, Sharad Pawar denied Ajit's claim of a working committee meeting being called on June 30. In today's The Lallantop Show, we have analyzed the changing political developments in Maharashtra.
