The opposition BJP in Karnataka has accused the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) of illegally allotting alternative land in a posh area to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi. This allegation comes in response to the 'acquisition' of nearly four acres of her land. Siddaramaiah defended the allotment, citing the '50:50 ratio' scheme introduced by the previous BJP government, which entitled his wife to developed land after MUDA formed a layout on her undeveloped property. The BJP calls for a CBI or retired high court judge probe, criticizing the government's handling of the investigation as a cover-up.
